I am pleased to announce that we have created a Young Professionals Group (YPG) and the inaugural Chair is Sean Yates from Victoria.
Sean was an AITPM Scholar at the 2009 Adelaide National Conference and has been working in the Graduate Rotation Program at VicRoads since completing his course. We profile Sean later in this Newsletter.
The initial vision for the YPG is to have coverage throughout Australia and is open to student members through to members up to around 29 years of age. One of the initial tasks for the group is to develop their preferred method of communication and in the first year we will develop their rules of engagement. Student Scholars awarded at the National Conference each year will become automatic members of the group and others in the target age group can also elect to become members of the YPG.
The Chair will be mentored by the National Council member in that state and if all goes to plan, the YPG will provide a direct pipeline of new and enthusiastic members when they leave the YPG.
