Hear from our past Award winners:
“Being able to represent South Australia as the 2019 AITPM Young Professional Award winner has been a very rewarding experience, as it has provided me with ample networking opportunities to engage and establish connections with both experienced and young professionals within the industry. Furthermore, exposure to a range of industry events such as technical forums and the National Conference has provided great insight to the latest developments and innovate solutions being applied on transport projects around the country and has enabled me to expand on my current knowledge of the traffic and transport profession. Involvement in the AITPM SA State Committee has also allowed me to have a positive impact on providing industry sessions/events that are tailored for engaging with young professionals (i.e. graduates, university students etc.) to develop skillsets based on their interests and specific sectors within the transport industry.“
Michael Oliver, AITPM YPN Award winner 2019, SA
“I was fortunate enough to be able to attend last year's national conference in Adelaide. Being my first conference, it was exciting being able to experience it with the award winners from other states. I found the keynote speeches very informative, offering new perspectives on existing issues. Not only was I able to catch up with old friends during the conference, but also meet many new people in the industry.”
Phoebe Ho, AITPM YPN Award winner 2019, NSW
“For me, it was a really great opportunity to go and learn about best practice in the industry and talk to people with extensive experiences. As a part of the award, I was also appointed to be the YP coordinator and together with the amazing state and YP committee members, we have planned and presented many technical and networking events, these experiences have built up my capabilities as a professional.”
Xin Hou, YPN Coordinator, AITPM YPN Award winner 2018, WA
“I found that the YPN award and conference has really helped get my name out there in the industry. Before being a part of the conference and the YPN committee, I had found it very difficult to initiate conversations with others in the industry, particularly ones who have a lot more experience than I do. Having had the opportunity to attend the National Conference in Perth, it has given me opportunities to learn from (and chat with) the best in the transport industry. Wherever it is that your interests lie, there genuinely is something for everyone at the conference, with multiple streams to choose from”
Clements Chan, AITPM YPN Award winner 2018, VIC
