Join us at Arup’s offices for a seminar on the applications of pedestrian planning and its interactions with pedestrian modelling from two leaders in the field:

Eric Rivers, Associate, Arup: Recently arrived from the New York to lead Arup’s pedestrian business within New South Wales, Eric has nearly 20 years’ experience working internationally across multiple markets including arts & culture spaces, rail, aviation and property. He’ll be highlighting recent examples in planning and design of events for places such as The High Line (New York), Sydney Olympic Park, and others, focussing on the application of human centred design principles, wayfinding and user experience in concert with traditional analysis and modelling.

John Webster, Technical Executive, WSP: John has over 28 years’ experience as a transport infrastructure planner, particularly in pedestrian modelling and the design of high pedestrian demand transport and sporting infrastructure. His international portfolio includes international portfolio including stations, transit systems, and sporting events such as the London 2012 Olympics, the Sydney 2000 Olympics and 2006 Commonwealth Games. Recent experience includes peer reviewing pedestrian microsimulation for both Sydney and Melbourne Metros provides him with unique insights into the challenges of sophisticated modelling tasks within major infrastructure projects.

This is a great opportunity to hear about an often overlooked aspect of planning our public spaces and infrastructure, along with networking before and after the presentations.
