NSW | AS 2890 Series Technical Seminar
This is a NSW Branch seminar designed to provide practitioners with a greater understanding of the Australian Standard 2890 Series. This interactive session will cover:
- An update on the publication of AS/NZS 2890 series from the co-authors/ practitioners of the standards;
- Matters that have covered in the recently published AS 2890.2 (off-street commercial vehicle facilities) and any gaps that still exist;
- Existing issues and matters that need to consider in the future updates of:
- AS/NZS 2890.1 (Off-street car parking): 2004;
- AS/NZS 2890.3 (Bicycle parking): 2015;
- AS/NZS 2890.5 (On-street parking): 1993; and
- AS/NZS 2890.6 (Off-street parking for people with disabilities)
Andrew Morse | ptc.
Andrew is a qualified Traffic Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the industry, is a member of the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning & Management (AITPM) and is a co-author of the AS2890.
Originally trained as a Civil Engineering Technician with Ove Arup & Partners in Bristol, England, Andrew specialised in Traffic Engineering when he joined Pinnacle Transportation in 1998. In 1999 Andrew relocated to Sydney and since 2000 he has worked as a Senior Traffic Engineer.
During this time Andrew has overseen many projects in all sectors including retail, commercial, residential, entertainment and transport (airports etc.). Andrew regularly provides Expert Witness services to the Land & Environment Court NSW and has provided his opinions and expertise in a number of forums including CPD training for Architects and local radio.
Oleg Sannikov | Director TEF Consulting
Oleg is a qualified Traffic Engineer with over 36 years’ experience in the industry. In his professional work, Oleg has overseen many projects in all sectors including retail, commercial, residential, entertainment and transport.
Experienced in many facets of the profession, Oleg’s particular interest are in design of car parking areas and loading/unloading facilities. He regularly provides Expert Witness services to the NSW Land & Environment Court, NSW Supreme Court and local courts. Oleg is the President of AITPM NSW branch and is a member of the working group for a review of the AS/NZS 2890 series.
Andrew Hulse | Traffic Professional
Andrew is a qualified Traffic Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the industry and previously held state and national committee roles of AITPM. Andrew has specialised in development planning during his time at Arup requiring many detailed design and compliance reviews of application of the AS 2890 series standards.
During this time Andrew has overseen many projects in all sectors including retail, commercial, residential, education, and transport. Andrew has provided numerous Expert Witness services to the Land & Environment Court NSW.
Mark Relf | Principal Consultant Accessibility Solutions
Mark has considerable experience and expertise in a wide range of access related projects and has attained accreditation with the Association of Consultants in Access Australia for the purposes of providing advice concerning access to the built environment and services for people with disabilities.
His expertise has been gained over 20 years working in management and advocacy roles within the disability sector and since 1994 providing advice to clients on access issues. Mark also participates on various key committees concerning access for people with disabilities. Mark has assisted in the review of AS/NZS 2890.6.
5:30pm arrival for 6 – 7pm presentations, followed by a Panel Discussion (to be chaired by Oleg Sannikov) until approximately 7.45-8pm. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.

Transport: Venue is located a short walk from St Leonards Train Station. If you are driving to the venue, on-street ticket parking is available nearby.
