The 2021 Online Conference Series will provide the opportunity for a broad range of technical presentations to be shared with the AITPM membership. The Online Conference Series is scheduled for September/October.
To organise the Online Conference Series, we are seeking a committee of volunteers to coordinate the online event, review the abstracts, prepare a program, promote, and support engagement in the event. As a national online event there is opportunity for members from across the country to volunteer to work on this national level event. People who are not already engaged in volunteering on AITPM Branch committees are particularly encouraged to come forward to assist with this event, particularly those located in regional areas or in circumstances where in-person volunteering is difficult.
The organising committee will commence in May with the view to having a program finalised and released at the National Conference in July. Once the volunteer team is assembled, the final structure of the Online Conference Series will be determined, however it is anticipated that it will be of similar format to the 2020 event but shortened in overall duration.

New process - no conference paper required in 2021
The AITPM are running a new process for the 2021 events, and the preparation of a paper is not required.
The removal of the requirement to provide a paper is not intended to diminish the quality of the presentations, but has been implemented in 2021 in recognition of the significant resource commitment that this process requires for presenters and volunteers . The process also adds considerable length to the timing of the conference planning and preparation processes, which can impact on the currency and relevance of the presentations. For 2021 we are therefore trialing the removal of this time consuming step in the event process. This will be reviewed later in the year for consideration in the planning for our Natioanl Conference event in Sydney in 2022.
For 2021, abstracts will be used to assess the proposed presentations and accepted presenters are only required to provide a copy of their presentation - preparation of a paper is not required. If a presenter still wishes to provide a paper this is still welcome, however please note that it will not be reviewed and will only be published electronically.
