Don Aitken Centre
Waterloo Crescent,
East Perth, Western Australia 6000

Join us for this event where we will hear about issues being tackled by local government, explain how they are being addressed and be seeking input from others on better solutions. Topics include Safety in Design and the importance of Road Safety Audit and Line marking; how do we tackle delays in the process.

Glenn Shaw, City of Joondalup will outline the City’s approach to Safety in Design, highlighting potential concerns and risks relating to road design and construction and the use of the Road Safety Audit process to mitigate potential risks.

Experience gained over time has resulted in a more risk adverse and focused approach to the design and delivery of the capital works program relating to road upgrades. The processes and procedures are designed to improve road safety outcomes and reduce potential risks to road users and design and construction staff involved. Case studies illustrate some of the concerns faced.

Manoj Barua, City of Rockingham has been addressing the issue of delays to line marking. The increasing demand for line marking has led to back-logs for many local governments. Hear how Rockingham has sought to tackle the problem. What other options could be adopted?

12:30 - Presentations commence
