Transcore is a Perth (Western Australia) based consulting engineering firm specialising in traffic engineering and transport planning.
We have a requirement for a Traffic Engineer on a full-time basis. The Applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering (or a combined civil engineering degree) or have about 2 years experience in traffic engineering or transport planning.
Traffic Engineer – Duties and responsibilities
- Assist project managers in day-today tasks associated with projects.
- Undertake project duties and write reports under supervision.
- Undertake SIDRA modelling, if required under supervision.
- Undertake micro-simulation modelling, if required under supervision.
- Undertaking AutoCAD related tasks including minor design and vehicle Turn Path Analysis using AutoCAD, Autodesk and AutoTurn softwares.
- Liaise with client and government agencies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Civil Engineering Bachelor’s Degree (or combined Civil Engineering Degree) or recently graduated with about 2 years experience.
- Post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
- Essential: Proficiency in using the AutoCAD software.
- Desirable: Knowledge and use of SIDRA and microsimulation modelling.
- Driver’s licence.
- Good command of English including speaking, writing, grammar and spelling.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to keep records and files organized.
- Strong time management with respect for deadlines.
- Ability to identify errors and solve problems.
- Ability to work with other project team members including assisting Senior Engineers.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Basic project management skills including time and budget management and client liaison.
