Senior Traffic and Transport Engineer

- Hourly Rate: $44 – $50 + super | Contract Duration: 3-4 months

Position objectives:
- This position is responsible for delivery of quality services to the community in the enhancement of transport infrastructure.
- This role provides support to the Team Leader Transport Engineering to assist in achieving the corporate goals of the Council, including the preparation of information, advice and recommendations. This role assists the Transport Branch to meets the transport policies and practices established by Council.
- This role is one of four Band 6 positions (three Senior Transport Engineers and one Development Engineer) in the Transport Branch. These roles rotate so that a Development Advice engineer is replaced every 12-18 months by one of the Senior Transport Engineers.
- The Development Engineering role provides engineering advice on planning applications to the planning department
- Technical Skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related field or significant relevant experience.
- A minimum of three years engineering (preferably traffic/transport) experience, with some exposure to local government.
- Experience in transport or related issues and practice in local government and other levels of government is desirable
- Proven experience in providing engineering advice on proposed planning applications (desirable)
- Experience with computer aided design and drafting with GIS and AutoCAD (desirable)
- Exposure to developing and delivering projects (desirable)
