About this event
Join us for a premier technical seminar that brings together road safety professionals from across government, industry, and academia to share insights, build connections, and work collaboratively towards safer roads for all users.
This half-day event, jointly hosted by the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) and the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM), is designed as a dynamic platform for sharing the latest thinking, best practice, and innovative approaches in road safety.
In support of Australia’s commitment to the Vision Zero approach - where no death or serious injury on our roads is considered acceptable - this event aims to foster collaborative action and shared responsibility. By connecting professionals across sectors, we can collectively drive the systemic change needed to achieve safer outcomes for everyone on the transport network.
The program features a mix of keynote presentations and technical sessions, offering valuable perspectives from state government, local government, private consulting, and research. Speakers will address emerging trends, real-world project learnings, and the critical role of integrated approaches to road safety across the profession. Whether you're interested in policy, planning, engineering, enforcement, or evaluation, this seminar will provide valuable content tailored to your role.
The event begins with arrival coffee and networking, followed by a morning of high-profile speakers including a keynote from GHD’s Adam Wilmot. After morning tea, attendees will hear from a range of expert presenters including the Chair of Bike Adelaide, David Elliott, Centre for Automotive Safety Research, Dr Mario Mongiardini, and respected Transport Lead, Tanya Bacic - City of Unley and Sarah Clark from the Departmernt for Infastructure and Transport, culminating in a panel Q&A session. The seminar concludes with a networking lunch, providing further opportunity to strengthen connections across sectors and disciplines.
This event is especially relevant to professionals working in:
- Local government and state road agencies
- Private consulting firms involved in transport and infrastructure
- Universities and research institutions
- Not-for-profit and advocacy organisations with an interest in road safety
Through a balance of technical content and informal engagement, this seminar is an opportunity to support your professional development while contributing to collective efforts to make our roads safer.
Registrations close at 12 noon Tuesday 13 May 2025
Holly Scott | South Australian Police Road Safety Ambassador
In 2017 Holly was involved in a serious car crash occurred in the Adelaide Hills that nearly claimed her life. At the time of the crash Holly was only 22 years old. She spent 15 days in a coma before moving to Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre where she had to learn how to walk and talk again.
When you hear Holly talk about how her car wrapped around that tree, how her then-boyfriend found her and the horrific injuries she sustained – it makes it all chillingly real. But when you see the extent of her broken body in x-rays, the hard-to-see photos, and gut-wrenching videos – you get the full picture of what a momentary lapse on the road can do to a life….to a family's life….to a community…and you get the true sense of Holly's remarkable fighting spirit.
Holly now works with the South Australia Police as their Road Safety Ambassador and is passionate about sharing her road safety journey.
