In response to COVID, cities around the world have introduced pop up bike lanes, wider footpaths and more space for outdoor dining.
Join the AITPM VIC Branch for this in-person technical seminar to look at some of the initiatives that have been introduced in Melbourne. Presentations will focus on the design, implementation, and engagement process of delivering this infrastructure in an accelerated way. There will be an opportunity for networking before and after the session over drinks and finger food. A big thank you to GTA Consultants for their sponsorship of this event.
The seminar will feature three speakers with direct involvement in the delivery of accelerated infrastructure:
James Laing, Associate Director at GTA Consultants with over 20 years' experience in Australia and the UK including at Transport for London. James was recently involved in the design of the Heidelberg Road pop-up bike lanes and has experience in designing for low traffic environments.
Andrew Sharp, Manager Movement and Safety Central at the Victorian Department of Transport (DOT). Andrew is heavily involved in the implementation of DOTs accelerated bike projects as well as the approvals process for accelerated infrastructure being delivered by local governments.
Melanie Del Monaco is a Community Engagement Partner at the City of Melbourne. Melanie has been involved in the development and roll out of the engagement strategy for the City of Melbourne’s accelerated bike lanes program.
To fully comply with Government’s regulations and requirements for public events and social distancing, this event will have limited seating and the maximum number of attendees is capped at 40.
Please ensure that you meet the Government heath guidelines and practice good hygiene. If you have been unwell within the past 21 days, we strongly suggest you do not attend.
