About this event
Hosted by Arcadis this lunch event, explored various components of what could make our mobility systems more gender inclusive.
Our speakers have joined forces to talk about:
- Women in Transport Pipeline (Emily Moylan). Universities are one step in the pipeline for women in the transport workforce. This presentation discussed some recent trends and future opportunities increasing inclusion in the transport jobs.
- Beyond safety: designing mobility for women and girls. (Estelle Grech and Harri Bancroft)
Safety is often the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about transport from a gender perspective, but feeling safe should be the baseline, not the benchmark when it comes to inclusive transport planning. This presentation will explored how adopting a gender mainstreaming approach can lead to more caring and sustainable journeys presenting on both global case studies and local insights.
