The session included a comprehensive overview of the nomination process for upcoming Board-appointed Director vacancies in the WA and VIC/TAS Regions.
The Board Chair outlined the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and discussed the pivotal role that prospective directors will play in providing governance oversight and advancing the plan’s objectives.
Our Company Secretary delivered valuable insights into the expectations and responsibilities of Directors, as well as AITPM’s governance framework. Attendees also benefited from the candid perspectives of both current and former AITPM Board Directors, who generously shared their practical experiences and reflections on their Board service.

Reece Humphreys | Board Chair | AITPM
With strong technical skills, business acumen, and commercial astuteness, Reece has a thorough understanding of project lifecycle—particularly when it comes to defining issues and developing solutions. His experience covers transportation planning, engineering design, and analysis, and he’s worked on large scale projects in metropolitan and regional cities across Australia.
Reece’s clients include government agencies such as the Department of Transport and Planning, the Victorian Planning Authority, and Transport for New South Wales. In his position, he provides advice on integrated transportation solutions, regional transportation plans, design projects and evaluations and corridor planning. Reece is a proficient presenter and has provided expert evidence for both the government and the private sector on several high-profile transportation corridor and sub regional plans.
Reece is active in the industry and is a fellow and Board Chair of the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management AITPM (Victoria) and a chartered civil engineer with Engineers Australia. He’s also involved in community sport—Reece coaches his daughter’s basketball team and is a committee member and part time coach for his local Australian rules football club.
Ben Wood | Board Director | AITPM
Ben Wood is a founding partner at Hadron Group in Sydney, and a board member of AITPM.
Ben specialises in leading complex programs and implementing policies that require collaboration among a diverse range of stakeholders. He works with state government agencies, local councils, academic institutions, and private sector clients, expertly navigating competing objectives to foster a shared understanding and drive the best outcomes for clients and their communities.
