Making our communities safer, cleaner, and greener starts with asking the fundamental question: who do our streets belong to?
Professor Marco te Brömmelstroet, shared the provocative ideas proposed in his book Movement: how to take back our streets and transform our lives, co-authored with journalist Thalia Verdake. Movement reflects on the apparent successes of Dutch cities and challenges us to rethink our ideas about transport to put people at the centre of urban design.
Following the keynote address, Marco shared the stage for a panel discussion moderated by the Committee for Sydney's Estelle Grech, Committee for Sydney’s Policy Manager, with:
- Sara Stace, Director of Cities at WSP,
- Anna Bradley, Executive Director Active Transport at Transport for NSW
- Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Greiss
AITPM partnered with the Committee for Sydney and City of Sydney to deliver a public event available via live stream. Special thanks to the event supporters.
